Harmony between art, nature and faith
The historic chapel of Monte Pana – a masterpiece of alpine architecture and a spiritual oasis with works of art by Albert Stolz and Vinzenz Peristi.
High above S. Cristina, at the foot of the Sassolungo and surrounded by the breathtaking scenery of the Dolomites, stands the Chapel of Monte Pana. Built in the 1930s according to the plans of architect Franz Baumann in the Bauhaus style, it combines simple elegance with functional aesthetics. Among its artistic highlights are the fresco of St. Bernard by Albert Stolz (1936) and the intricately carved wooden crucifix by Vinzenz Peristi. Consecrated on 26 August 1937, the chapel remains a silent witness to history and a spiritual retreat for mountain lovers and pilgrims. A place where art, faith and nature come together in perfect harmony.
