The Saslong (3.181 m) is a mountain between Val Gardena and Val di Fassa. It is one of the most famous tops of the Dolomiti, and it is the symbol of Val Gardena.

This is strictly linked to the names of Paul Grohmann (co-establisher of the Austrian alpine club), F. Innerhofer and P. Salcher, who have been the first climbers to go onto it in 1869.

The scenery you can see on its tops is the most beautiful and fascinating of all the area of the Dolomiti.

The mountaintop, that looks like a semicircle, are the Saslong (M. 3179), the Sassopiatto (M. 2964), the Cinque Dita (M. 2998), the Punta Grohmann (M. 3179) an the Torre Innerkofler (M. 3081).

From those, only the Sassopiatto it's reachable by trippers, all others are reserved to the professional climbers.
